Autumn Brenton has joined Bernholz & Graham as an account coordinator. Her responsibilities include general coordination work for the Alaska Travel Industry Association, Tourism North, GCI and Spenard Builders Supply. Prior to joining the company Brenton worked as a new photographer with KTUU-TV Channel 2 News. She was reponsible for shooting and editing daily news stories for all KTUU broadcasts.

The University of Alaska Anchorage announces two new hires. Michael W. Smith has joined the university as director of facilities planning and construction. Christopher M. Turletes has joined as facilities and maintenance director. Smith is an established architect with more than 25 years experience planning, designing and managing construction projects. Smith comes to UAA from Indiana where he worked for the University of Notre Dame as the director of facilities engineering. Turletes has more than 26 years of experience in facilities design, site planning, operations, construction and project management. He is a retired Lt. Col. having served most recently as the deputy district engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Alaska. Prior to accepting the position at UAA, he was project manager for Earth Tech Inc. He is a graduate of UAA with a master's degree in engineering and science.

Roxanne Horschel of Anchorage has been elected president of the Associated General Contractors of Alaska. Horschel, of Acme Fence Company, is the third woman to serve as AGC president in Alaska. She will serve in that capacity for the next calendar year.

Charlotte Abellera has been hired by the Alaska General Office of New York Life Insurance Company as an agent. Abellera previously worked as an administrative assistant for an Engineering firm. New York Life Insurance Company, a Fortune 100 company, is the largest mutual life insurance company in the United States and one of the largest life insurers in the world.
