Hattenburg Dilley & Linnell LLC aims to set an atmosphere to create a combination of challenging work, excellent quality, teamwork and camaraderie.
At the end of the year, the company takes a percentage of the profits and awards bonuses to everyone in the company based on performance, contribution to the company, years with company and position. The smallest bonus is typically about $1,000.
HDL has an ongoing mentoring program where engineering staff works directly with senior managers to complete client projects. Job development includes rotating staff through the various business units to train them in all aspects of the company.
Formal class training, either at the university or through professional development organizations, is encouraged, as the company pays for those classes and the employee's time.
Professional licensing also is encouraged and test review classes are fully paid as well as all licensing fees. Managers are directly trained by the owners of the firm in business practices and management of the firm.
HDL's benefits include the LifeBalance program, which provides reduced costs on sporting events, concert tickets and gym fees. A health advocate is an additional sponsored program that allows employees to have a personal advocate to answer claim questions, locate top providers, and discuss health issues and benefits.
HDL also allows employees to take longer vacations. At Christmas time the firm closes the office for the week between Christmas and New Year's to allow employees time with their families.
For healthcare, HDL participates in a reimbursement program. The deductible is high on the insurance to keep premiums low. However, the employee is only responsible for $750 of the deductible, and at the end of the year, HDL takes a portion of the money saved and distributes it back to the employees as a health bonus.
