North Pole Mayor Doug Isaacson and Senior Airman Michael Nash unveil the North Pole city seal nose art.

Isaacson addresses the crowd as Fairbanks Mayor Terry Strle and Col. Scott Wenke look on. The city seals of North Pole and Fairbanks were officially emblazoned on the nose of an Alaska Air National Guard KC-135R stratotanker June 20. Nose art, especially during World War II, has been used to personalize combat aircraft and boost morale with extravagant creations highlighting unit pride.
