Don Argetsinger of Anchorage has been named chief executive officer of Koniag Services Inc., a subsidiary of Koniag Development Corp. KDC is the business arm of Koniag Inc., the Native regional corporation for the Kodiak area, owned by 3,300 Aleut and Alutiiq shareholders. Argetsinger has 22 years of management and consulting experience in a wide range of industries, including natural resources, construction and tourism. He has served as a business and management consultant, was chief executive of Klukwan Inc. for five years and was a senior manager at NANA Regional Corporation. KSI has been dormant for several years and was revived to pursue contracting opportunities with the federal government. KSI is eligible for non-competitive contracts with the federal government. Debra Mason, a shareholder with Thomas, Head and Greisen, CPAs, has earned the Certificate Fraud Examiner designation. Mason earned the recognition following a series of training courses and a rigorous examination by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (CPE). Mason becomes one of 28,000 business and government professionals nationwide to have earned the certification. CFEs are responsible for resolving a wide range of allegations of fraud and white-collar crime. Mason directs the auditing and accounting department of Thomas, Head & Greisen.

Kevin Thomas, CPA, recently joined NANA as vice president & chief financial officer for NANA Regional Corp. and NANA Development Corp. Thomas will be responsible for the overall financial activities and assets of the corporation and its 30 subsidiaries or partnerships. Thomas was previously with KPMG LLP, and was the chief financial officer for Spacemark. Thomas holds a bachelor of business degree from Idaho State University with a major in accounting and a minor in computer information systems. NANA Development Corp. serves as the main hub of operations for the different business that NANA oversees.

AMC Engineers announces the advancement of Terrill O'Docharty to accounting manager. O'Docharty joined AMC in 1994. She majored in business administration with a minor in accounting at San Jose City College and the University of San Francisco. For more information call 907-257-9100.

The Public Relations Society of America Alaska Chapter has announced that its 2003 scholarship recipient is Jennifer Inderhees Hoefel from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Hoefel is a senior majoring in journalism with an emphasis in public relations. She graduates in December 2003. She is an active member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. The chapter is currently developing a public relations strategy for Green Star Inc., a non-profit organization that encourages businesses to practice waste reduction, energy conservation and pollution prevention.

HDR has named Bill Raleigh senior operations manager for the northwest region. His responsibilities include oversight of all engineering consulting projects, including transportation, water/wastewater and environmental resource management. Raleigh is a 20 year veteran of HDR and was formerly senior operations manager in the Omaha, Neb., office. Founded in 1917, Omaha-based HDR provides architecture, engineering and consulting services. HDR employes more than 3,200 architects, engineers, scientists, planners and professionals in more than 74 cities worldwide.

Aero Map U.S. has announced that Robert Thomason Jr. has rejoined the company. His new assignment will be to manage the Airborne Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data processing. Thomason is a certified photogrammetrist with more than 25 years experience in photogrammetic map compilation, cartography, and planning. He is a member of the American Society for Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing and a certified photogrammetrist. As LiDAR processing manager, he will be responsible for data classification to generate bare earth Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), first return DEMs and profiles.
