The U.S. Department of Energy will hold a conference entitled “Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for Tribal Community and Project Development for Alaska Natives,” at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel. The conference is aimed at tribal leaders; tribal economic development, planning and natural resources staff; federal staff; and tribal entrepreneurs. The conference is free to tribal members and Bureau of Indian Affairs employees. The Wind-Diesel Workshop 2008 will be held April 23-25 in Girdwood, immediately following this training session. Anchorage residents interested in the future of the Anchorage Hillside are encouraged to attend one of two public workshops to review the framework plan, a prelude to the Hillside District Plan. Wednesday's workshop will be held at the South Anchorage High School cafeteria; Thursday's workshop will be held at the Goldenview Middle School cafeteria. The Alaska Small Business Development Center will hold its eighth annual Biz Fair at the Egan Civic and Convention Center in Anchorage from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A keynote speaker will be giving three different presentations throughout the day, and attendees will have four tracks of various workshops to select.
