Kenai wastewater treatment plant receives award

Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Click Bishop approved the Kenai Wastewater Treatment Plant for the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program award as a result of outstanding employee safety and health programs. The plant has been recognized by state labor officials for implementing an outstanding and voluntary job site safety and health program. With the initial SHARP award in 2000, the plant has now been recognized for the fifth time. The company has three employees. Companies that achieve SHARP status are likely to experience fewer workplace accidents and reduced workers' compensation insurance costs. For more information on how your business can become a SHARP participant or to see a list of current participants, visit the SHARP Web site at labor.alaska.gov/lss/OSH-SHARP-participants.htm.
