UAA forms graduate school under one administrative unit

The University of Alaska Anchorage's post-graduate programs will soon fall under a single administrative unit: The newly formed graduate school at UAA will function as an umbrella for the university's 26 master's degree and 13 post-baccalaureate certificate programs. While each graduate program will still be responsible for curricula, classroom instruction and faculty hiring, the graduate school will facilitate the admission and enrollment of students, enhancement of graduate student life, maintenance of standards and issuance of graduate degrees. UAA currently enrolls in its graduate programs more than 850 students from all 50 states. The graduate school is a member of the Council of Graduate Schools, the Western Association of Graduate Schools, and the National Association of Graduate Admissions Professionals.
