DOWL and HKM engineering companies merge

Anchorage-based DOWL Engineers announced on April 3 a merger with HKM Engineering, a Montana- and Wyoming-based consulting engineering firm. Combined, the firms have offices in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Wyoming and Arizona. The merger became effective April 1. DOWL is an Alaska Native-owned company that provides a range of civil engineering and related services. It was founded in Anchorage in 1962 and maintains a staff of approximately 200. HKM is a full-service engineering firm, providing civil, structural and environmental engineering services in the mountain states since 1955. Nineteen HKM employees will be owners of the new, merged company.
