Document 'recordation' bill passes House
By Bradners’ Alaska Legislative Digest
Legislation updating Department of Natural Resources procedures and requirements for documents logged by the State Recorder’s Office passed the House March 17 on a 37-0 vote. The bill effectively allows instant "recordation," eliminating the necessity of leaving documents at the office when they are presented for recording. It also ensures all required information is located on the document, including the name of the recording district, but eliminates the need for social security numbers and removes statutory references to court authority over the Recorder's Office.
