Nathaniel F. "Frosty" Leonard takes over as director of operations for the Crowley Maritime Corp. in Valdez as of March 1. Crowley's Valdez operations support the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company's escort response vessel system. Leonard began his career with Crowley in 1983 as a deck officer. He has a bachelor's degree in nautical science from Maine Maritime Academy.
Joe Moore is the new manager of Altman Rogers & Co, a certified public accounting firm in Soldotna. He is a board member for the 2006 Kenai Peninsula Arctic Winter Games.
Bill Inscho and Craig Thorn were promoted to senior vice president at First National Bank Alaska. Inscho is a member of the bank's senior loan committee and has been working for FNBA for 14 of his 27 years in the banking business. Thorn is a past branch manager at the Palmer, Wasilla and Anchorage main branches since joining FNBA in 1984.
George J. Cannelos has accepted the position of president of Koonce Pfeffer Bettis, a full service architectural firm in Anchorage. He replaces Mark Pfeffer, who retains his position as chief executive officer and chairman of the board, allowing him to focus more time on external affairs, business development and private sector development. Cannelos is resigning from his current position as executive director of the Heritage Land Bank with the Municipality of Anchorage.

Dan Castillo is the new director of forest management for the Alaska Region of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service. He replaces Forrest Cole. Castillo is the former assistant director of forest and rangeland management for the Northern Region based in Missoula, Mont. Castillo reports to his new position in Juneau in April. He has a bachelor of science degree in forest management from Oklahoma State University.
Bryce Klug of RIM Architects in Anchorage and Mark Langberg and Ken Ratcliffe, both professional engineers with AMC Engineers in Anchorage, have earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design professional accreditation via the United States Green Building Council. LEED accreditation is given to professionals in the building industry who demonstrate knowledge of integrated design and sustainable building practices. Klug most recently was the project manager for the 65,000 square foot National Park Service headquarters building constructed between Fifth and Sixth Avenues in downtown Anchorage.
Cindy Fry, retail sales officer with Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, has been named the banking institution's 2003 Employee of the Year. Fry began her career with the credit union five years ago as a senior sales associate at the West Dimond branch in Anchorage. Jennifer Caldwell, an accounting manager, was named the institution's 2003 Manager of the Year. Caldwell joined Alaska USA three years ago as an accounting officer.
Beverly Boyd is the new manager for First National Bank Alaska's Federal Branch in downtown Anchorage. Her most recent assignment was as manager of the South Center Branch. Allen Hippler is the new manager at FNBA's location in Kuskokwin. Patricia Orr takes over as manager of the South Center Branch after transferring from the Eastchester Branch. Carol Hovanec has been promoted to manager of the loan servicing section with First National Bank Alaska. Her most recent position with FNBA was as manager of the customer service unit in loan servicing. She is an active member of the Anchorage chapter of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women.
Gregory J. Kershaw is the new president and chief operating officer for RBMS, LLC., an Anchorage based employee benefit firms specializing in administration of self-funded employee benefit plans. Kershaw has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
