The presentation, held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 3000 C St. in the south wing, will focus on how a mortgage and how owning real estate "right" can make a dramatic difference in your net worth. The Alaska Educational Institute presents a seminar on "Missed fortune," from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 3000 C St. in the south wing. The concepts shared in this seminar will empower you with new strategies you can implement immediately to provide significant value to your clients. It will also help you dispel many common misconceptions concerning home equity and mortgages for your clients. This seminar is approved by both the CFP board and the Alaska state commissioner for two hours of CE Credits. Lunch will be provided. The normal fee of $99 will be waived. The Mat-Su Small Business Development Center will present a workshop on writing an effective business plan from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the SBDC office at 201 N. Lucille St., Ste. 2-A (second floor of Key Bank) in Wasilla. The workshop will cover the specifics of writing a business plan and how it can help focus a business, obtain financing and keep a business on track. Cost is $25 and preregistration is required. The University of Alaska Fairbanks Small Business Development Center will offer a workshop on record keeping for small businesses from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The workshop will cover simple and effective ways for small business owners to maintain and organize records to provide accurate financial statements, planning tools and tax records.
