The Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce holds its weekly luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Best Western Lake Lucille Inn, 1300 W. Lake Lucille Drive. The Mat-Su Small Business Development Center will present a workshop on advanced QuickBooks from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the SBDC office at 201 N. Lucille St., Ste. 2-A (second floor of Key Bank) in Wasilla. The seminar will provide information payroll and inventory, plus using the program in business bookkeeping. Registrants should have taken the beginning QuickBooks workshop or be very familiar with the software. Cost is $100 and preregistration is required. The Anchorage chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction will discuss the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at its monthly meeting held at the West Coast International Inn. The University of Alaska Anchorage Small Business Development Center will offer a workshop on starting a small business from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop will cover specific principals for business success, including tips on planning, marketing, record keeping, taxes, insurance and financing a business.
