BenefitHelp Solutions begins Alaska operations

BenefitHelp Solutions has begun operations in Alaska. BenefitHelp Solutions provides claims administration, premium administration and flexible spending accounts along with other services. The company's Alaska office is located at 310 K St. in Anchorage. Ty Phillippay is the manager of the new office, handling local account sales and service. Phillippay has extensive experience in health insurance supporting small- and large-group employers. He will continue to serve as the regional marketing representative for Delta Dental Insurance Co., working with insurance agents to provide dental insurance for employers. BenefitHelp Solutions is a subsidiary of Health Services Group of Alaska, which is part of The ODS Companies. Portland, Ore.-headquartered ODS provides dental, medical and professional liability insurance products to more than 650,000 members.

United Rentals completes Anchorage expansion

United Rentals Inc. has completed a major expansion at its General Rentals branch in Anchorage. The branch, located at 9760 Old Seward Highway, offers equipment rentals, sales of new and used equipment, service and sales of contractor supplies. It has been expanded through the addition of a 12,000-square-foot service center, outfitted with five drive-through garages and a large washing bay. United Rentals, headquartered in Greenwich, Conn., is the largest equipment rental company in North America, with more than 730 rental locations, including Fairbanks, Palmer, Soldotna, Wasilla, Delta Junction and two branches in Anchorage.

FNBA expands in Fairbanks

First National Bank Alaska opened its newly constructed Johansen branch in Fairbanks Jan. 10. The new branch is located at 431 Merhar St., off the Johansen Expressway. The branch has drive-through lanes and a drive-up, 24-hour ATM as well as a large conference room that may be scheduled for use by community nonprofit groups. The conference room has a separate entrance and access to restrooms and a kitchen. The lobby of the branch is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The drive-through lanes are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. First National is Alaska's largest locally owned and operated bank, with 27 branches throughout Alaska.

Right! Systems Inc. opens new office

Right! Systems Inc. has opened an office at 501 Arctic Blvd., unit 1, in Anchorage. Scott Denton is the director of sales for the company's Alaska operations. Denton is a certified information systems security professional with many years of experience in the technology industry. Olympia, Wash.-headquartered Right! Systems is a technology management services company offering services related to remote access, voice and video, network security, wireless, virtual infrastructure and device deployment.

Denali Alaskan opens Mat-Su branch

Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union has opened its first branch in the Matanuska Valley, located in the Carrs grocery store at 595 E. Parks Highway. The branch is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kristy Millo is the new branch's manager. She has worked for the credit union since September 2003 and most recently served as a financial services officer at the LaTouche branch in Anchorage. Denali Alaskan Federal Credit Union is the state's third largest credit union, with 10 branches located in Anchorage, Wasilla Fairbanks and Juneau.

Credit Union 1 announces quick-check program

Credit Union 1 has begun its quick checks program. Regardless of past check history, individuals qualify for a quick checks account as long as they have no record of fraud or check kiting. Individuals must also live or work in Alaska to qualify for membership. Checks cashed through quick checks account are charged a 3 percent fee, with a maximum per item charge of $25. Funds can be accessed at a Credit Union 1 branch or by using ATM card with a $100 daily limit. Government and most payroll checks are cashed instantly. Other funds deposited by check are subject to an 11-day hold. After keeping the quick checks account in good standing for one year, the member can apply for the credit union's full range of loans, accounts and services. Credit Union 1 is Alaska's second largest financial cooperative, with 12 branches in Anchorage, Eagle River, Fairbanks, Soldotna, Ketchikan, Kodiak and Nome.
