As part of its series of classes on board and staff development for nonprofit organizations, the Foraker Group will offer a class on the basics of raising money, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the BP Energy Center at 900 E. The Mat-Su Small Business Development Center will present a workshop on writing an effective business plan from 9 a.m. to noon at the SBDC office at 201 N. Lucille St., Ste. 2-A (second floor of Key Bank). The class will cover the specifics of writing a business plan and how it can help you focus your business, obtain financing, and keep your business on track. The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce will hold its General Membership Luncheon at noon in the gold room of the Westmark Hotel, 813 Noble St. The scheduled program will feature University of Alaska president Mark Hamilton. Cost is $15. For more information call (907) 452-1105.
The Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce holds its weekly luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Best Western Lake Lucille Inn, 1300 W. Lake Lucille Drive. The scheduled program was not available at press time. Cost is $3 for chamber members and $5 for nonmembers. Lunch is optional and cost varies according to the meal.
