The Anchorage Home Builders Association has elected the following board of directors for 2002: president, Chuck Spinelli of Spinell Homes Inc.; vice president, Jim Jackson, Northwood Homes Inc.; treasurer, Greg Jones, General Communication Inc.; secretary, Harley Sudsbury, Sudsbury & Sons; and past president, Robin Ward, Real Estate Unlimited. Animal Food Warehouse has added Jack Timm to its management staff. Timm will serve as operations manager for the company, a newly created position responsible for all retail and product distribution activities. Timm has experience in management with several Alaska retail stores.
R.J. "Skip" Reierson has been appointed president and chief executive of Harbor Enterprises Inc. Reierson has worked 15 years for Harbor Enterprises and most recently served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of the Seward-based company. Reierson will be responsible for all Harbor Enterprises subsidiary companies including Petro Marine Services, Alaska Oil Sales, Petro Express and North 60* Petro. Reierson is succeeding former president and chief executive Dale R. Lindsey, who is retiring. Lindsey will continue as chairman of the corporation.
Tom S. Poe has been hired as general manager of The Alaska Club North, The Alaska Club Eagle River and The Alaska Club Midtown. Poe will oversee all aspects of the operations, personnel and programs at the three locations. Poe has 21 years experience in the education field including 18 years as a physical education instructor, administrator and consultant for the Anchorage School District. Janet M. Warner has joined The Alaska Club Network as network group fitness director. Warner will direct the group fitness department for all seven Anchorage facilities. Warner most recently worked as program and fitness director for Sanford Nautilus and Racquetball Center in North Carolina. Warner previously worked as project manager for FDIC Fitness Centers in Washington, D.C. Melissa Morrissette has been hired as general manager of The Alaska Club East. Morrissette will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations, personnel and programs at the facility. Morrissette most recently worked as an accounting manager for Mandara Spa, Cruise Ship Division in Miami. Morrissette previously worked as reservation center manager for Canyon Ranch SpaClub in Las Vegas.

Marcus Hartley has become a partner and vice president of Northern Economics. Hartley is a four-year associate of the Alaska economic consulting firm. Hartley has primarily focused on fishery economics.

The law firm of Wohlforth, Vassar, Johnson & Brecht recently announced that Cheryl R. Brooking has become a shareholder of the firm. Brooking's practice will continue to emphasize municipal, public finance, environmental and maritime law. Brooking was admitted to practice in Alaska in 1992 and has been with the Anchorage firm since 1996.
Gov. Tony Knowles has appointed David Ramseur chief of staff. Ramseur has served as the governor's deputy chief of staff for the past seven years. Ramseur has more then 15 years experience in state government and the Legislature. He has served as a capitol correspondent, gubernatorial press secretary, legislative aid and as Knowles' communications director and deputy chief of staff since 1994. As chief of staff, Ramseur will assist the governor in managing executive branch state agencies and provide oversight of the governor's office and relations with other branches of government.
Brianna Magby has joined CIRI Foundation as administrative assistant. The CIRI Foundation was established in 1982 to promote the educational and career development of Cook Inlet Region Inc.'s original enrollees and their descendants through post-secondary educational scholarships and grants. Magby, a CIRI descendant, attends the University of Alaska Anchorage and is studying education.
