The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce holds its General Membership Luncheon at noon Jan. 20 at the Westmark Gold Room, 813 Noble St. Program speaker is Mark Hamilton, president of the University of Alaska. Cost is $15. Call 907-452-1105.

The Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce holds its weekly Must Be Tuesday luncheon Jan. 20 at the Mat-Su Resort, 1850 Bogard Rd. The program features an Iron Dog Race overview presented by Curtis Green, Iron Dog Race board president. The business spotlight is on AA-1 Sheet Metal Fabrications. The Alaska Association of Environmental Professionals holds its monthly luncheon meeting at 11:45 a.m. Jan. 21 in the VECO Building on 36th Ave. in Anchorage. Scheduled speaker is Lawrence Taylor, Jr., an Alaska chemist for the past 30 years. He will discuss joint testing by the Municipality of Anchorage and the University of Washington regarding volatile sources of organic compounds and carbon monoxide in Anchorage homes. The Ketchikan Chamber of Commerce holds its weekly meeting at noon Jan. 21 at Dockside Diner, 1287 Tongass Ave. The program speaker is Bruce Weyhrauch, state Representative for District 4. He is providing a legislative update. Cost of the luncheon is $12 for chamber members and $14 for nonmembers For more information, call 907-225-3184.

The Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce holds its weekly membership luncheon at noon Jan. 21 at the Palmer Moose Lodge, 1136 South Cobb Street. The scheduled program features an update on the Alaska Express Freight Sled Expedition scheduled for Feb. 1-March 1. The expedition, which will simulate the original Iditarod Serum Run from Seward to Nome, is sponsored by the Iditarod National Millennium Trail, based in Seward. Cost is $12 with lunch or $3 without lunch for chamber members. For nonmembers, the cost is $15 for lunch and $5 without lunch. For more information, call 907-745-2880.

The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce will not hold its weekly Make it Monday Jan. 19 in observation of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They will resume their regular schedule Jan. 26 when they celebrate the University of Alaska Anchorage's 50th anniversary.
