Christopher Leach has joined The Alaska Club Network as a massage therapist at The Alaska Club West. Leach specializes in Swedish, therapeutic and deep tissue massage and stress reduction. Leach is a graduate of the Honolulu School of Massage, a 630-hour American Massage Therapy Association certified professional program.

Cholometes
Pete Cholometes has been chosen relocation director for Prudential Real Estate. Cholometes will be responsible for overseeing the relocation of corporate personnel and their families to and from Alaska. Cholometes joined Prudential in March 1999. Cholometes has automotive sales experience, 13 years experience in the insurance industry and served 23 years in the U.S. Air Force.

Wilson
Marie Wilson recently was elected president of the Associated General Contractors of Alaska at the association's annual meeting. Wilson, of Warning Lites of Alaska Inc., is the second woman to be elected to the position. Alice Ebenal of Fairbanks with ACE General Contractors was elected president in 1984. Other executive board members are: vice president, Phil Anderson, Fairbanks; secretary, Roxanna Horschel; treasurer, Terry Fike; contractor at large, Pat Reilly; associate member, Mike Harned, all of Anchorage; and immediate past president, Bert Bell, Fairbanks.

The Native American Public Telecommunications has awarded Sharon McConnell Gillis, president of Anchorage-based Blueberry Productions, an all-expense fellowship to the Sundance Film Festival Jan. 10-16 in Park City, Utah. McConnell Gillis was one of four producers in the nation to be selected by NAPT. This is the first year the organization awarded the grants. McConnell Gillis began her career in 1977 with the Tundra Times then moved to television in 1979. In 1994, she founded Blueberry Productions with producer Jeff Silverman.

Dirksen
The Alaska School Activities Association board of directors recently re-elected Dave Dirksen president. Dirksen, Region 5, is the Annette Island School District administrator and Metlakatla superintendent. The 2002 ASAA board of directors also includes: vice president, Teresa Fisher, Region 6; Jim Hickerson, Region 1; Dean Overbey, Region 2; Sylvia Reynolds, Region 3; Jim Taylor, Region 4; Chad Struhs, Alaska Association of School Administrators; Fred Reeder, Alaska Association of School Boards; and Mary Beth Hiratuska, Alaska Association of Student Governments.

The Valley Hospital Association board of directors recently voted in Tom Davis and Nancy Campbell to fill two open positions on the VHA operating board of directors. Davis has served as a hospital chief financial officer and consultant for more than 25 years. Campbell has 20 years of leadership in church ministry and has served on several area boards. The Valley Hospital Foundation also confirmed two new members selected by the VHA operating board of directors. Cheryl Riggs and Mary Combs will serve the foundation for three-year terms. Riggs is founder and co-owner of Great Northern Engineering and has more than 20 years experience in teacher training. Combs is founder of Combs Insurance Agency in Palmer.

Flanigan
Special Olympics Alaska has elected Mike Flanigan chairman of the 2002 board of directors. Flanigan is sales and marketing director for Hotel Captain Cook. Other members elected to the 2002 executive committee include: president-elect, Rebecca Logan, owner of O'Brady's Burgers & Brew; treasurer, David Hamilton, vice president of commercial banking, KeyBank; secretary, Patti McGuire, former chairwoman of the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games; and immediate past president, Paul Landes, vice president of marketing for General Communication Inc. Newly elected directors include: Connie Cleveland, retired; David Hamilton, vice president of commercial banking, KeyBank; Tony Hancuff, division manager for Holland America Westours; Kathy Knight, teacher's aide, Anchorage School District; Charlie Kozak, certified public accountant and senior associate, KPMG LLP; Charlie Miller, lobbyist; John Murray, Phillips Alaska Inc.; Nancy Peterson, assistant city manager, City of Valdez; Joe Pichler, service provider for Sheraton Anchorage Hotel; Geoffrey Stein, director of tax, BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.; and Lori Wing, senior vice president, Brady & Co.

Matt Hopper has joined KNBA 90.3 FM as the public radio station's music director. Hopper has worked as a music columnist and critic for the Anchorage Daily News and has held the positions of station manager, program director and music director of the University of Alaska Anchorage's student-run radio station KRUA-FM. Koahnic Broadcast Corp. operates the public radio station.

The Ketchikan Visitors Bureau has hired Arien Crockett as administrative assistant. Gordon Patterson also has joined Ketchikan Visitors Bureau as fulfillment and facilities specialist.
