  Lozano    
Wells Fargo has named Andra Lozano store manager for its College store in Fairbanks, and Tayleah Conklin has been named store manager for North Pole. Lozano has worked for Wells Fargo for nine years and was most recently store manager for North Pole. Conklin has served Wells Fargo's Fairbanks customers for more than seven years as a teller and personal banker. Wells Fargo and its affiliates serve customers throughout Alaska with more than 65 branches and 120 ATMs.

Michelle Bartleman Loscher, a senior at the University of Alaska Anchorage, has won first prize in one of six national writing competitions held each academic year by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. The opinion editor at The Northern Light, UAA's student newspaper, Loscher was awarded the prestigious Hearst Journalism Award for "The New F-Word," an editorial column on the interaction between faith and higher education. A $2,000 award and a matching grant for the department accompanied the prize, which also makes Loscher eligible to compete in the Hearst Foundation's National Writing Championship this summer. Loscher will graduate from UAA in May with two degrees: a bachelor of science in aviation technology and a bachelor of arts in journalism and public communications. In addition to her duties as opinion editor, Loscher also manages The Northern Light's online edition.

Robert Coghill has joined MTNT Ltd. as general manager. MTNT Ltd. is the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act corporation for the villages of McGrath, Takotna, Nikolai and Telida. The company operates the electricity company and Internet service in McGrath, a construction company headquartered in Anchorage, and a rental company in McGrath. Coghill was raised in Nenana and lived most of his life in Nenana and Fairbanks. He brings experience in management, ANCSA corporations, accounting, retail and banking. He served 15 years on the Fairbanks Borough Assembly and School Board. Coghill lives in McGrath.

Tony Atkins is the new general manager of McGrath Light & Power Co. Atkins worked recently in power generation in Arkansas and Mississippi. Previously he worked in Saudi Arabia, the Arab Emirates, Cuba and Indonesia. He also served in the British Navy. He brings his expertise in electrical power generation and distribution to the company.


  Jarratt    
Helen Jarratt was named Alaska's Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) of the Year for 2004. Jarratt, a 25-year resident of Anchorage, was recognized for her dedication and service to the community, Anchorage Board of Realtors, Alaska Association of Realtors and Alaska CRS Chapter, as well as her top producing real estate sales performance. Her involvement in real estate began in 1980 and she currently serves Anchorage, Eagle River and the surrounding areas. Jarratt of RE/MAX Properties, has had many accomplishments over the years, including CRS State Chapter President for 2003, a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame Club, listed in 2004-2005 edition of Who's Who in Exectutives & Professionals and being an elected member of the Anchorage Board of Realtors.

Sara Juday of Anchorage has been named associate publisher of Alaska Northwest Books, an imprint of Portland-based Graphic Arts Center Publishing Co. General manager Doug Pfeiffer announced the promotion Dec. 15, the 18th anniversary of Juday's hire date with the company. In Alaska, Juday has been the constant - the face and name most associated with Alaska Northwest Books, the company said. Several hundred titles have been published during her tenure.

Klebs has announced its employee awards for 2004. Journeyman sheetmetal worker Shannon Massey was named employee of the year. Residential supervisor Tracy Evans was named supervisor of the year. Manager of the year is Mike Klebs, the plumbing department manager. Administrative assistant Carolyn Rodriquez is assistant of the year. HVAC installer of the year is journeyman Jon Noe. Journeyman Stuart Adams is plumber of the year. Service technician of the year is senior technician Steven Ford. Journeyman Todd Lillo is sheetmetal worker of the year. This year's awards were announced Dec. 18 at the Klebs holiday party. Each honored employee receives an engraved gold pan. Five-year Carhartt jackets also were awarded to two employees, Jon Noe and service technician Wayne Fisher. Ten-year gold nugget watches were awarded to journeyman plumber Matt Klebs, journeyman sheetmetal worker Paul Smith and sheetmetal supervisor Leroy Baldwin.
