Rotary International President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammar, of Goeteborg, Sweden, presented the official charter certifying the Fairbanks Golden Heart Rotary Club at a reception honoring his visit to Fairbanks at the Museum of the North held earlier this month.

The Fairbanks Golden Heart Rotary Club is the area’s only club to hold its regular membership meetings in the evening. With the formation of this new club, area Rotarians hope to expand Rotary membership to individuals unable to attend the current breakfast or lunch meetings offered at other area clubs.

Fairbanks Golden Heart Rotary meets each Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Through March, the group will meet at the New Hideout Lounge. For information, contact Club President John Pile Jr. at john@alaskajohn.com or (907) 322-8176.
