The Port of Anchorage will offer free tours for local residents every Sunday this summer, through Aug. 24. The tours will be conducted every half hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bus tours depart from the Alaska Railroad corporate office at 327 W. Ship Creek Ave., where free parking is available. Lasting approximately one hour, the tour will include a drive through the port to view the expansion project now in progress. Free hot dogs will be served. Chambers of Commerce
The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Alaska Oil & Gas Association to provide the opportunity to spotlights trends in the oil and gas industry. The AOGA annual meeting will feature a special presentation by Brian Rogers of Information Insights. Rogers will release the results of an economic study and will provide a comprehensive examination of the role the oil and gas industry plays in Alaska's statewide and regional economies. The luncheon will be at the Egan Civic & Convention Center. Cost is $30 per person and $240 per table. This is a RSVP-only event.
