Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport picks up painting from Fairbanks gallery
Local art is prevalent throughout Alaskan offices. Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport recently expanded its own collection with “Rainbow Creek” by Fairbanks artist David Mollett. The 9-foot by 32-foot canvas oil painting is based on studies done in the field at Rainbow Creek near the trailhead at mile 108 of the Seward Highway. It can be seen hanging above the escalators in the departure lobby of the South Terminal. The artist is well-known landscape painter who owns and operates Well Street Art Company. He’s also an associate professor of art at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
