Nome Federal Building sold

The Nome Federal Building is now under the ownership of Front Properties LLC of Anchorage. The building, located at 113 Front Street, sold for $1.68 million by the U.S. General Services Administration. Blaine Hastings, regional real estate property disposal manager, said the sale is “in the best interest of the taxpayer” since the building is no longer used to its full potential. Federal real property regulations state that properties no longer meeting federal needs are first offered to state and local governments and nonprofit organizations, then to the general public.
