Thomas is a Haines Republican. He tells the Sitka Sentinel (http://bit.ly/Uclk0E) he has delayed making a decision because of the death of a friend.
Thomas has until the end of Wednesday decide.
Division of Elections Director Gale Fenumiai (feh-NUE'-me-i) on Friday certified Kreiss-Tomkins as the winner of House District 34. The tally was 4,125 votes for Kreiss-Tomkins and 4,091 for Thomas.
Fenumiai says it there's a recount, it likely would take place Friday or Monday.
She says it's been her experience that the count may change by up to three or four votes but not double digits.
