First doctorates at UAA

The University of Alaska Anchorage — jointly with UA Fairbanks — awarded its first ever Ph.D.s to Cody Chipp and Jaymes Gonzales in Clinical-Community Psychology Commencement and Graduate Hooding ceremonies on May 5. Though this program has been jointly administered by both UAA and UAF since 2006, the degree had been solely awarded by the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Now considered a doctoral granting institution, UAA will be able to better serve the educational goals of Alaskans and the needs of the state. From left, UAF dean of graduate school Lawrence K.
