Cierra Mickens rocks the voice
NBC The Voice
Hometown Eagle River gal Cierra Mickens rocked "The Voice" on March 25.
Mickens competed against Emily B. in the Battle Round.
The two sang Sara Bareille's "Brave."
It was a close battle, and after the round closed Shakira chose Emily B.
Judge Usher then used his final steal to get Cierra on his team.
Previously on "The Voice," Usher (along with judges Shakira and Blake) turned his chair for Cierrs during the blind auditions.
Turning a chair is a practice judges use to signify that they want a certain contestant on their team. Judging is initally done blind, so that judges choose completely on singing talent and not looks.
During the the March 26 competitions Usher commented more than once that he was saving his steal for someone special.
Mickens will face-off in the next round of battles in the upcoming weeks.
