CIRI Alaska Tourism Corp. takes top honors in 2014 Best Places to Work survey

Published:

In 2013, the Alaska Journal of Commerce was asked by the Anchorage Economic Development Corp. and The Wilson Agency to revive the “Best Places to Work” survey program previously conducted from 2007 to 2009. The results below reflect the companies that scored highest in the surveys taken by Best Companies Group last fall. CIRI Alaska Tourism Corp. took the top honor, and its parent company CIRI came in ranked seventh among the companies who participated.

2014 Best Places to Work in Alaska

  1. CIRI Alaska Tourism Corp.
  2. The Wilson Agency
  3. Cornerstone General Contractors Inc.
  4. Fairbanks Memorial Hospital/Denali Center
  5. Swan Employer Services
  6. Alaska Clean Seas
  7. CIRI (Cook Inlet Region Inc.)
  8. Alaska National Insurance Co.
  9. Beacon Occupational Health and Safety Services Inc.
  10.  Kodiak Area Native Association
  11.  Hattenburg Dilley & Linnell
  12.  Anchorage Fracture & Orthopedic Clinic

A special publication will be released in the May 4 edition of the Journal honoring the companies who scored best.

The two-part assessment process consisted of an employer survey to collect information on policies and benefits, and a 78-question survey for employees with a five-point agreement scale, plus two open-ended questions and seven demographic questions.

Whether or not a company makes the list for Best Places to Work, the employee feedback is an incredibly valuable tool that can be used to improve the work environment, boost morale and improve retention.

We encourage all companies large or small in Alaska to participate in the Best Places to Work survey for 2015, and you can sign up to be notified once registration opens at bestplacestoworkak.com. Congratulations to the companies being honored this year, and we hope to be able to recognize even more in 2015.
