Alaska Airlines’ iPhone and iPod touch application has several new features, most notably the ability to check in and access a boarding pass within the app, the company said in a written release.
New features also include the ability to track boarding information, change seats, add notes for hotel or car reservations, access "My Trips" to view multiple flight itineraries, and track Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account information.
Later this year, Alaska Airlines plans to launch an Android app and a refreshed mobile- optimized website.
Built by Seattle-based Übermind, the Alaska Airlines app is a complete redesign of the airline's first mobile app launched in March 2010. More information is available online at www.alaskaair.com/mobile.
The Alaska Airlines app is available for free from the App Store.
Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, subsidiaries of Alaska Air Group (NYSE: ALK), together serve 90 cities through an expansive network in Alaska, the Lower 48, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico.
